Micro Funny Car (Dragster) Update

A little update on the micro funny car project!  I originally mentioned it being 1/24 scale, well that is not the case anymore.  The scale I will be working with will be 1/32.  Yes smaller and more of a challenge as far as packing all the electronics under the small body.  Hopefully I can manage that without any issues.  Next little update: The wheel's.  I have gotten the front and rear wheel's that will be used on this project in. They are rubber o-ring aluminum front's and tacky foam rear's.  I still have to polish up the front's, that can wait as they will be used for mock up purposes.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Artie (SRGN of RCTech.net) for the help and much needed support of this project.  I could say that I would not have gotten this far with this project, without him.  The "donations" as you could say from Artie has really helped get the ball rolling on this project.  Once again Artie, thank's a lot for the help and support of the Micro Funny Car (Dragster) project.  I will be sure to give as much credit as I can when it come's to this project coming together.  Hopefully you will be impressed with how this project take's shape and is done.

Will update at a later time with more picture's and image's on this project.  Check back at a later time and hopefully by then, I will have more progress for you!

1/24 RC Funny Car?

I've been having another project idea running through my head lately.  Usually when idea's run through my head I have to find or create something to put it down on paper.  Most the time I do not jump right onto the idea or the plan's.  But figured I would share what I have had on my mind lately.  Maybe someday or someday soon (maybe as I wait on part's from the secrete project?) I will start on this.  Who know's, guess time will tell and if you read my blog then the blog will show, haha.  So only the flat layout of the design.  Also, with this idea plan I would be running a Mamba micro brushless motor, slot car gearing as their gears use grub screws and would make mounting and swapping out a piece of cake.  Wheel's are a toss up, thinking maybe slot car wheels. Need to see how much I can fit under a small shell and also would be attached to the 3mm axle with a grub screw.  For the front would have a straight bar with the ends drilled which would house a 1/24 Losi micro steering knuckle and a spring above it while running a long screw through it all to allow for some suspension in the front.

Finally, if you decide to create something like this.  Please come up with your own design.  It would be cool to have a funny car class in a micro scale, would love to see what other's come up with.  But do the work and research on your own as I do and always do.  I am always willing to help, just ask and I will help as much as I can.

Micro's Micro's & More Micro's

As the title says, more micro's.  I recently have brought in more than a few new micro's.  One being the Micro Crawler, which I began to work on first.  I got a pretty ugly jeep body with it, which I had no intentions of using in the beginning.  But after some searches on Jeep's, I just went ahead and modded the body that I got with the crawler.  I was going for a Jeep JK-8 build, but after a comment on it's look and the body style, it looks more like the Jeep TJ-8.  So whichever work's.  See the images below on the crawler project, from how I received it, the aluminum part's I got with it to the tool box, scale jack and cooler, which is where I have left off.  I will try to update this with more picture's as I can.  Seem's I have been slacking.

The next micro's I have brought in, are 2 1/24 Losi Micro SCT's. One I will be converting to the new micro truggy.  The other I will have both option's for it, the SCT and the Rally.  I would post picture's, but I dont have any on my computer of them right now, along with the other 4 Micro T's that I am waiting on in the mail. So that make's, 7 Losi micro's that I have brought into the collection.  Who know's which way or weird idea's will run through my head.  Check back, and I will get more picture's up of the whole group and more on the crawler project.

Coming Along, Almost There

Almost to where I would like to be.  Still need to get the rear end formed and find or remake the front wing.  Attach the panels which will be getting screw mounted.  Add number's to it, and than get my new wheel's for it.  Enough talking and on to some more pics of yet another "mock up"

New front wing mocked up.

Anyone have any 3Racing over sized wheel's for the micro-t in good to like new condition, contact me.  I am looking for either white or chrome.  I would like to get them asap if possible, otherwise I will be ordering a pair.  I can trade other micro part's for them or purchase from you.  Let me know as this project is coming to an end.  :-)

Panel Painting Begins

Passenger's Side Panel Finished.

Began painting the body panels and wings today.  Next after a good time of drying comes to assembly of the wings and the mounting of the panels to the roll cage.  Once the drying process is finished, expect more picture's to come.
One horrible mock up without the front wing.  It'll do.

All the body panel's and wing's.  Well I thought both of the wing's.  lol
Driver's Side Panel Finished.

Micro Sprint Car

The 1/36 scale micro sprint car has begun.  With the looks and appearance of the larger scale sprint cars, I bring you my micro version.  This project began using just the front and rear end of a micro-t.  The chassis is made of carbon fiber and was cut to look like the larger scale sprint car chassis.  The roll cage was than designed and formed into shape using .080 styrene rod.  Later on whenever I get the motivation to try my hand at brazing I will use brass tubing.  The panels and wing are both made of lexan, which is where I have gotten to.  Plans still include different wheel's and paint.  Stay tuned to see the finished product.  Hope you all enjoy.
